Rocks Would Cry Out started as a conscious attempt I made to write a Matt Redman song back 2003. It first appeared on the Convoy EP (2005) but I was never satisfied with the recording. I also wound up changing the live arrangement significantly over the years and I wanted to do a recording that was more accurate to the live version.

In that I failed. The new version is nothing like the live version I've been doing over the years but I'd like to think it's better.

Musically, there's a more than obvious nod to Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto phase but with an immediacy more akin to Vampire Weekend. The result is kind of a neo-world vibe reminiscent of There Will Be A Day off my previous album Glory Tumbles Out.

Lyrically, this is a very simple call to worship focused on our responsibility and privilege to give praise to our Creator.
